About the School


Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Centre is a beacon of socio-cultural exchange and a nurturing environment for the community through its support of a wide spectrum of cultural, artistic and literary events. It is a place representing creativity and innovative thinking to the masses in the State of Kuwait.

The Music School aims to plant seeds that will flourish into arts in the future. Composed of a distinguished group of teachers from different countries, the school is open for children and young people, offering them an entertaining experience to develop their musical talents, basing them on scientific methods.

The School promotes Western and Arabic music. It offers a variety of multi-level programmes and specializations. The instructional concentration studies include western instruments such as the Violin, Viola, Cello, Flute, Clarinet, and Piano, whilst The Arabic curriculums focus on Oriental Takht instruments, including the Oud, Nay, Qanun, and Oriental Violin. Students also explore solfege (reading music), Arabic singing, and vocal exercises.

School Goals

Harnessing the musical talents of children in Kuwait between the ages of six and twelve.

Introducing contemporary and effective musical curricula from original global contributions, thus creating an enjoyable educational experience to ensure continuity.

Establishing a National Youth Chamber Orchestra and an Arabic Music Band for the children and youth, to perform concerts on a regular basis and help support the idea of music as a social activity.

Enriching the musical scene in Kuwait with musicians who are capable of performing at an excellent standard, to portray the Kuwaiti Identity.

School Semesters


The school year contains two semesters.
Each semester is 14 weeks.

1st Semester: 15 Sep 2019 to 19 Dec 2019
2nd Semester: 12 Jan 2020 to 24 Apr 2020

Sunday to Thursday, 14:00 to 21:00

Teaching Hours
Sunday to Thursday, 14:30 to 20:00

*Students will be assigned three days a week once admitted. Days & timings will be chosen once admitted. Children below 12 years old will have their classes scheduled no later than 19:30
